Clutter, Clutter Everywhere

Here are few tips to help you declutter in just a few minutes a day.

Clear your kitchen countertops of appliances that you don't use on a daily basis.

Organize like items together in clear plastic bins and label it.  Using labels to take the guessing game of it.

Place a basket near the door to put things in that need to go out such as library books, DVDs and items to be returned.

Scan your calendar on Sunday night to see what appointments and activities are planned for the week.

Get Organized this Spring!

Decide when it's time to donate or throw out things you no longer use.  The rule of thumb is 6 months.  If you still aren't sure that you're ready to part with it, place it in a box and if within 6 months you haven't taken it out of the box, then it's probably a good indication that it can go.

Every time you walk out of room, take something with you that doesn't belong in that room and put it where it does belong.

Use ice cube trays to store your jewelry.  Place one piece of jewelry in each cube and then stack them in your drawer.  (Get Organized has stackable jewelry organizers than sit in your dresser drawers.  Prices range from $9.98 to $14.98).

Make sure you make your bed before you leave for the day.  Same goes for your desk.  Clear off your desk at the end of each work day.

When you arrive home, pick up all of the clutter that doesn't belong in the car and take inside with you. Dispose of the trash and put everything else where it belongs.   (
Get Organized has several suggestions for car organizers).

Use a mesh pop-up laundry hamper to hold basketballs, soccer balls and footballs.
